Happy 24-Days-Old “New” Year!
It has been a while since I posted here. The tail-end of the year and the incoming one has been hectic what with us (the Boss and me) moving, work, holiday celebrations, more work and a slew of other boring (read: important) activities we had to do - I simply had no time to scratch that writing itch that has been building up for quite some time. So now I chafe away at that sore spot that has longed to be rubbed, stroked, massaged, stimulated … er …. okay I'll stop.
So, this is sort of a short update - mostly about kendo related activities right now so non-kendokas might want to skip this. We've been quite fortunate to have two (2), yep, that's right, two (2) <is there an echo in here?> 8th dan senseis visiting our very own Manila Kendo Club. From what I heard, that is pretty much rare owing to the fact that there are only a few 8th dan senseis around and getting an audience with two is no small feat. The first is the teacher of our very own Yamanishi sensei. This happened December last year I think. More recently, we got a visit from Ninomiya sensei's teacher,
Hiroshi Ozawa who authored the book: Kendo, The Definitive Guide. From the reviews I've read, I think I'll be saving up (the darn thing costs P2,000.++) to get my own copy. Hopefully, Ozawa sensei would come back so that I can have it signed. A batch mate (he told me about the book) already had a copy but didn't know the author was coming so, yes, uhuh, you said it, bummer. Anyway Ricky-san, maybe next time - sabay na tayo [let's have our copies signed together].
