What’s Up? Smut!
Still in toxic mode due to work so don’t have much time to blog. However, I realize that the more work that’s piling up, the stronger the urge to …. blog. In relation to what I posted earlier, it has become form of escapism. So, ok. Here goes: three items that I feel worth taking note of today, enriching our collective experience –
1. Google makes available for download, pdf books of public domain titles, i.e., the classics and other obscure books. Click here for the BusinessWeek article.
2. Alan Moore comes out with a comic book that is seriously graphic and graphically serious in its
theme. Some would say porno, but I bet they meant oh no. Entitled Lost Girls, it pushes the boundaries of the graphic novel as a medium, and tests our concepts of what is smut according to this review.
I forget number three but who’s counting anyway? In connection with Moore’s new creation that challenges a lot of conventions, here’s a film that’s generating quite a buzz for quite similar reasons – Shortbus. Directed by John Cameron Mitchell of Hedwig and the Angry Inch fame, the movie (based on reviews) reminds me of the film Nine Songs’ bravery in portraying the sexual act. I’m not sure if I can be open enough to watch it since I wasn’t able to watch Pedro Almodovar’s Bad Education
because of the homosexual lovemaking scenes. I hope I’m not doing a Justice Isagani Cruz, believe me I tried to watch it but ….. uh … can’t, sorry. I know I might be losing out on valuable lessons that are being shared there, but I just can’t right now. Perhaps when I’m mature enough ... hopefully?
So this turned out to be not really short, but I feel better because I’m not working. I might want to describe it as escapism or diversion but it’s just plain goofing off really. Lastly, if you must insist, I’ll treat Shortbus as the third item. I hope you OCs out there are satisfied. Here’s the trailer.
P.S.: No, I don’t think there aren’t any public domain smut or porno materials available through Google (or any other search engine for that matter) in pdf format (or in any other format).
