Incredible Filipino Martial Art: Kombotan
diggnation reports: "Watch as these guys practice the Filipino fighting skills of Kombotan, where the contenders are blind-folded. The outcomes are unpredictable when you don't rely on your eyes!"
male73: Not to be confused with another popular Filipino skill: kembotan (roughly translated: dancing; literally: hip-swaying). Quite ironic that I'm into kendo when there are homegrown martial arts like this. But I do like arnis de mano, my grand dad taught me some basic moves before he passed away (which is a good thing because I certainly will not take martial arts lessons from a ghost, relative or not -- think kung fu Ju-on). No amulets though -- although relatives insist that grand pop did have anting-anting (supernatural power). But it (the anting) was good for attracting women and not for fighting so I guess I definitely didn't get that special power.
